Condenser & Heat Exchanger Tubes Restoration
CTI Shield/Seal is a metallic, thin walled insert wich is inserted and then mechanically expanded into the existing tube ends. This is to overcome the common failure of the condenser & heat eachanger tubes which occur within the first 6 inch of tubes. The common failure mechanism of tube’s end failure include inlet end erosions, stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion.
CTI Full-Length Tube Liner is a similar repair technique to CTI Shield/Seal but it was developed to restore tubes that had sustained damage over their entire length. This repair involves the installation of full-length tube liners into the existing tubes, hydraulically expanded at the entire length and then mechanically expanded at the both ends to restore plugged tubes back to duty.
Choosing the proper alloy is critical for both CTI Shield/Seal and CTI Full-Length Tube Liner. Selection is based on the existing tube material, the service of heat exchanger and the cause of the tube failures. Options for material selection range from copper alloys (CuNi and Brass) to stainless steel, and include corrosion resistant, nickel-based alloys (e.g., Alloy 400, Alloy C-276).
